Legendary music critic Jacob Siskind, for whom our popular Siskind Concerts are named, remembered us in his will. Today, we are all the beneficiaries of his remarkable and generous gift.
What will your lasting legacy be?
A planned (or legacy) gift is a means of contributing to a registered charity such as the OCMS, while gaining access to financial benefits for yourself or for your estate.
We suggest several ways to make a planned gift, depending on your situation:
- A bequest in your will
- A gift of a life insurance policy
- A gift of appreciated securities
- An annuity
- Cash donation
Planned gifts offer excellent tax advantages. We recommend that you speak with your financial advisor to help determine which method is most financially advantageous to you.
Your gift will be designated to the Ottawa Chamber Music Society’s Arts Endowment Fund, which is managed by the Ontario Arts Foundation and invested in perpetuity. A portion of the income is used year after year. The endowment fund ensures that the values and excellence of the OCMS are preserved and strengthened.
With your permission, we will honour you by including your name in the OCMS Legacy Society. By allowing us to celebrate your philanthropy, your example will inspire others to join you in creating a legacy in music.
