Creator of the wildly successful Music of Art and What Makes it Great? presentations at Ottawa Chamberfest 2012, composer and educator Rob Kapilow returns to Ottawa for a new edition of his What Makes it Great? music appreciation series. In this installment, Rob and Gryphon Trio members Annalee Patipatanakoon (violin), Roman Borys (cello), and James Parker (piano) take a peek under the hood of Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49 to show us how and why it works as great musical art.
